At age 10, while vacationing in Florida, Jeff Addison saw his first ice sculpture display. The sculpture was of a blue marlin, and to him, it was awesome. "How did they do that?" he wondered. An interest in ice sculpting had sparked.
A native of St. Louis, Addison moved to Kansas City in 1993 and began a chef apprenticeship program at Johnson County Community College with the former Adam's Mark Hotel. One of his assignments was to create an ice sculpture every week for Sunday brunch. This practice gave him invaluable sculpting skills, which he has carried with him throughout his career as a chef and caterer. Through time, Addison has carved his own niche in ice, becoming one of Kansas City's few award-winning sculptors.
God-given creative talent, along with Addison’s desire to study, practice, and raise the professional standards, have led to Cool Carvings. Since its inception in 2003, Addison continually strives to ever improve his business and maintain its integrity.
Col 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”.
